PTZtv and MahoBeachCam.com covered the very last KLM 747 visit to Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on the island of St. Maarten. KLM made the decision to change their routing and dedictate the 747 to direct, non-stop service to Curacao instead of including a stop-over at SXM. The Amsterdam to St. Maarten route will now be served direct non-stop by an Airbus A330, saving 4 hours on the return leg.

However... this was a sad day for the hundreds of thousands of visitors to Maho Beach who flock to witness the amazing spectacle of low, over-the-beach landings and sand-blast take-offs. A Boeing 747 was by far the largest and most impressive aircraft that defined the whole experience.

The Miami Airport Cam incorporates video, sound and air traffic control radio feeds from a wonderful view location at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant on the southern perimeter road adjacent to MIA runway 9-27. It brings to aviation enthusiasts the same PTZtv dedication to compelling and engaging live video content honed over 5 years of experience developing seaport webcams. It also leverages more recent aviation experience gained with Maho Beach Cam next to SXM in St. Maarten.

We chose to "go live" on October 20th to coincide with the departure from MIA of Air Force One and President Barack Obama. See video below...
